What does voluntary administration mean?

An independent administrator takes control while investigating the company and its future. A business owed money is generally a creditor. Existing debts enter a formal process; payment is not assured. ASIC creditor guide.

Can I keep chasing payment?

Unsecured creditors generally need administrator consent or court permission to begin, continue or enforce claims. Seek advice on proceedings, security or property rights rather than assuming ordinary collection can continue. ASIC guidance.

What happens at creditors’ meetings?

The first meeting deals with the administrator’s appointment and whether to form a committee. A later meeting considers the company’s future: return to directors, a deed of company arrangement or liquidation. Court extensions can change the timetable. Use current notices for dates. ASIC guidance.

What is a proof of debt?

It records what you claim you are owed. Follow the administrator’s instructions for supporting evidence and voting or proxy documents. Submission does not guarantee payment. ASIC guidance.

What should I prepare?

Create a folder with the contract, invoices, payment reconciliation, delivery or completion evidence, variations, retention records and correspondence. Note any dispute or security separately. Check the legal company name on the documents; a trading name may be insufficient to identify the debtor.

Keep a dated copy of what you submit and any acknowledgement. Use the official administrator’s channel for formal claims, never a phone call to this service.

What if my customer is Bathla?

Use our Bathla Group administration information to find the official portal, dated updates and a supplier checklist. Check later notices for your contracting company.

What if this affects my own payments?

Your own commitments need a separate review. Prepare for advice about the unpaid debt’s impact. These pages provide general information and do not determine your legal or financial position.
